Hi,

Dirk-Willem van Gulik has kindly loaned me a MacBook Air, so I'm going to
spend some time in late February trying to fix the issues that the default
client has on Safari. I've summarised the issues I am aware of here:

  https://github.com/jech/galene/issues/249

If you've run on other issues with Galene on Safari, please let me know,
either here or on GitHub.

(Aside. Dirk has sent me the last Intel model of a MacBook Air, the one
from early 2020, and since it's the first time I've been playing with
a Mac in over a decade, I was somewhat curious. The display and
loudspeakers are remarkable, I think it's designed for watching movies.
It sports a custom Intel CPU, a 2-core i3 paired with the top (at the
time) Intel iGPU, which confirms the impressions that it's designed for
entertainment.

The UI is surprisingly nice, it could almost be used for real work. The
system looks like Unix at first sight, but it's weird:q when I lost a file
and tried "find ~", it told me that Terminal.app is not allowed to access
my music collection (which is technically correct, but somewhat off-topic,
since my music collection is on a different machine). And there's dozens
of processes owned by root with reassuring names such as "ad privacy deamon".

End of aside.)

Thanks,

-- Juliusz
