Dear all,

Galene 1.0 is available by doing

    git clone -b galene-1.0 https://github.com/jech/galene

Please do not read too much in the version number, it simply means that
the protocol has been stable for almost a year and is unlikely to change
in the near future.

The main news in this version is that we are now using Pion 4.0, which
allows us to track Pion development in real time. Unfortunately, we're
not using the new features of Pion 4.0 (such as dedicated RTX tracks and
FEC), since doing so requires some non-trivial work on the Pion side.

Also a number of new features and bug fixes, such as more complete WHIP
support (all optional features are now implemented), hierarchical tokens,
JSON templates in galenectl. The full changelog follows.

9 August 2025: Galene 1.0

  * Upgrade to Pion v4.
  * Add support for ETags and ICE restarts to the WHIP server.
  * Implement UDP multiplexing.
  * Implement hierarchical tokens.
  * Add rotate filter; this is useful when using a mobile phone that is
    upside down as a webcam.
  * Implement /sharescreen, rename /stopshare to /unsharescreen.
  * Implement JSON templates in galenectl.
  * Make the TURN server less verbose.
  * Replace the configuration field "publicServer" with "allowOrigin" and
    "allowAdminOrigin". This is an incompatible change.
  * Fix a race condtion in the setdata request. Thanks to git-lui.
